Hello,
This keeps on happening: Corrections [updates of city names and locations] made on previous U.S. maps are not carried forward to the latest map version. Tom Tom makes the update on their mini update correctly but leaves it off on the new map version. Anyone else notice this problem? |

yep is annoying especially if you put a lot of time and effort into it eg speeds and we all know how long they can take to do _________________ TomTom 5001 |

Try St Johnsbury, VT in the latest map. |

In my NA 830 map, under Vermont, when I type 's', the first listing is Saint Johnsbury Center VT.
If I click 'Find' and type St, I scroll down to St. Johnsbury VT.
How are you trying to find the location? _________________ David |

The problem seems to be in the Northeast portion of the U.S. The map makers that TT uses seems to assume that when a city/town is named with the word 'Center' following, it is the actual city... which is not the case. For example: Newton Center, MA; Thetford Center, VT; Lyndon Center, VT; St Johnsbury Center, VT; et al. There must be many more. I was looking for a specific address in St Johnsbury, VT and St Johnsbury Center and East St Johnsbury are the only two found in the latest map. Both are small, historic suburbs of the town of St Johnsbury which is by far the largest town and is, actually, the 'center' of many resources - industry, museums, etc. - in the area. TT made the correction in the previous map version after I brought it to their attention but didn't carry it forward. |

David,
Thanks for showing how to get around the problem. I had never used that method. Why, however, is East St Johnsbury and St Johnsbury Center set up as the two primary towns [see my previous post?] I'll try to remember to use that method when I'm stumped in the future. |
