It would probably help if you mentioned what brand/model your GPS detector is!
But if it helps, there's a list of what units the database is KNOWN to work with on the main download page HERE |

Hi Andy,
It is a Snooper S2 which is not on the list.
Is this database only for sat nav's? |

I don't know, I'm afraid, but putting "Snooper" into the "Search" box above quickly found a post from one of the Admin saying:
Quote: | We don't (and cannot) support Snooper devices. |
I think they use an encrypted format.
Sorry. |

I found the page to download the camera poi capture software, but before I download and install thought I'd ask here if it's compatible with tomtom 520 and 720 devices (running latest firmware)? The page indicates it works upto version 6.xxx firmware! |

You've answered your own question there! It's no longer supported as TomTom withdrew the SDK required.
Tips on POI logging here. _________________ Darren Griffin |

Hopefully an easy question about audio.
I have a Garmin compatible Kenwood KVT-522 unit, and am happily using your POI speed zoned files, which issue a 'bong' sound for the proximity alert.
I have downloaded the voice files (audio .MP3) and have put them in the same directory as the POI files, then loaded the unit with the Garmin POI Loader, but I still just get bongs, no voice warnings....
What am I doing wrong?
thanks, Bryan |

Hi and welcome.
Unfortunately the Kenwood units don't support the Voice Alerts. From the Voice Alert Download Page....
Quote: | Currently the following devices are known to be incompatible with the mp3 voice alerts:
•Nuvi 2xx Series
•Kenwood Units |

Thanks for the high speed response Paul.
Okay, I'll give up trying.
But is this the sort of thing you'd expect Kenwood to correct with a software update sometime, or do I forget it entirely?

They might. It's down to Kenwood really.. Might be worth asking them. |

Just a quick one I hope
I have the full UK camera DB on my Zumo 550 and wondered when I travel to Europe and the US do I have to install each seperate DB on each visit or can I have them all in the satnav at the same time? If I can have them all in when I put in just an updated UK DB will this wipe everything out?
Phew...........
Ta very much, hope the question makes sence. |

Normally on Garmin units, you have to upload all your custom POI files, including the camera data, all in one go and the POILoader software creates a single file.
So the easy way is to have a single folder on your PC where you keep all the files you want and use POILoader to upload them all together every time you want to add anything new.
However, to get round the issue of MPH in the UK and km/h in Europe, there's a workround HERE.
You can probably use it twice over to give a separate file for the US as well, but as they are all in MPH, I would think you can just upload the UK and US files side by side. |

Hi
im looking at subscribing.
I have a tomtom go910 and a kenwood DNX-7200.
When I load them on my device do I need to load the single file version? |

Hi and welcome.
The Single File Database is not avalible anymore, however the Speed Zoned Database is probably a better choice. |

Can anyone tell me what the X2 suffixed bmp files are for?
For instance there is pocketgps_uk_gatso.bmp AND pocketgps_uk_gatso_X2.bmp.
Are they simply alternatives? If so, to use the X2 bmps to mark cameras on the GPS map do you simply have to rename them?
