Hi guys,
my tomtom one that i've had for about 6 months no longer has any commands/audio coming from it. it's weird though as about an hour and a half into a journey it will suddenly start giving me the voice commands!?
Wierd,
i'm up to date on the updates and i don't have anything else installed on it ie, no spalsh screens, comedy voice stuff.
Is there any way to wipe it back to the original settings/ op sys 1.1 so to speak?
I've tried tomtom but they are being their usual selves, about as much use as a chocolate fire poker!
all help is appreciated. oh and yes i have tried the volume slide.
thanks |

as in a soft reset (press the reset hole) or a better hard reset? I've done the soft reset many times, but it doesn't work. If there is a hard reset to take it back to the original settings i'd like to know.
thanks
looks like its an ongoing problem with tomtom. S*?T!!!! |

I have a number of replacement speakers for the Tom Tom One.
I have changed the speakers in 2 x Tom Tom One's so far.
All that is need is a 2mm Hex security screwdriver bit, a pair of cutters and a pair of pliers.
Or I offer a repair service.
I am posting them on Ebay later today/early tomorrow 29th/30th May |

Try pressing the re-set button, and keeping the button in for 30 seconds, and have you got a windows explorer backup? _________________ Audi A3 Sline sat nav |

There is the additional Function of Reset Factory Settings on the last page of Change Preferences. _________________ Richard

Did anyone come to a conclusion with lack of audio? Software or speaker failure; I have a lack of audio on my V1 but plugging into my PC I get normal audio. I've found speaker replacements on ebay, just wondered if its worth trying anything else prior to ordering one. _________________ Steve |

Unfortunately I'm working in Saudi and my TT1 is with my wife in UK. She will just have to use it without audio until I get home later in the year. I'll get her to check audio thro the jackplug and if so order a speaker so it's waiting for me. Thanks for the link to the replacement speaker; is it a straight swop for the original one? _________________ Steve |

The speaker is identical in size and fitting, you just need to cut the two wires from the old one and connect the new, solder if you're flash and capable or otherwise.

I KNOW I saw this on the TT site once, Andy. TomTom considers a 'soft reset' to be the pin hole thing. They refer to a HARD RESET as being 'Restore to Factory Defaults'
Ah..........

Should have also asked...how easy is it to access the speaker, any 'special' tools required? _________________ Steve |
