It's not on their website on their list of current products or 'original' products - what's going on? Have they discontinued it? |

930 is not discontinued.
It's still for sale on TT website.
Just change the country to Ireland or USA etc
Not promoted for the UK market as they want to sell the 940 instead. |

I think the proper answer is "yes, they have discontinued it in the UK". This is because it is the replacement with LIVE services, and stock that still exists is on clear-through and will not be replaced.
Whether this is good or bad etc is in the eye of the beholder, but that is the status. |

When the x40's were due to be released and there was the usual feeding frenzy of people trying to be the first to get the latest all singing, all dancing (albeit with a frog in the throat and and 2 broken legs) units, it was asked on this forum were the x30's to be replaced....the answer giving was a definitive NO! They are to be run along side the x40 series. It was a very short time after the release of the X40's that tomtom had the x30's removed from their Netherlands site. It was obvious from the outset they were to be replaced.
I still fail to see why tomtom released the x30's being they were identical to the x20's only to replace them after a few months with the x40 series.
On the positive side of things I did pick up my 720 for a fraction of the price of the 730 because they were 'obsolete'. I do feel sorry for the people that bought the x30's though. |

Yes, I got a 520 for £97 a few months ago.
It's been back for one repair (TMC plug - the usual problem!) so far, altohugh the turn around was very quick (sent on the Monday, back on the Thursday). |
