Sign the petition to show your support for these guys. Many have given their lives for our country.
""If there was a minute's silence for every Gurkha casualty from WWII alone, we would have to keep quiet for two weeks "
We need to show the Government just how far out of touch they are with public opinion. _________________ Darren Griffin |

Me too, but got rejected as I had already registered and signed the petition!
Maybe more people will sign up this time.

If only 5 of us voted for this one it looks like it counted to the total, a big well done to Joanna Lumley for getting this one sorted out - Mike |

I left my e-mail address when I signed the petition in the fist place, so I got a message yesterday from Joanna. This had a link which I could use to find the address to e-mail my MP, Shaun Woodward.
I did this, asking him to support the question raised by Nick Clegg and to let me know his reasons if he felt that he could not do what I asked.
I got a reply today from a lady in his office, who said that she would pass my request to Shaun. I hope to get a response from him in due course.
The link is Here so I would ask everyone to do the same.
Hpefully, the more people that write, then the more evidence the government will have about the depth of feeling about this issue. _________________ Ric - TomTom 520 DEAD - Passed to the great traffic jam in the sky. Now using Maps & Waze on Samsung Galaxy S4 + CamerAlert of course! |

Come on guys! You know you want to! It's worth it just to get an email from Joanna Lumley!
Seriously though...it's shameful how our government are treating the Gurkhas. _________________ Paul

Aye, I bet we could have housed a couple of Ghurkha Families for less than the expence claims of a single MP
Utterly shameful that we have disowned these men who have devoted their lives to the service of our country. And they are one of the most professional and feared fighting units in the world. _________________ Darren Griffin |

Surprisingly enough, my MP has failed to answer the e-letter I sent. All I got was an acknowledgment from 'his office'.
I will be looking for his expenses claims in due course.
Govt has backed down a little bit, but pressure still needs putting on them, particularly with elections not that far away. _________________ Ric - TomTom 520 DEAD - Passed to the great traffic jam in the sky. Now using Maps & Waze on Samsung Galaxy S4 + CamerAlert of course! |

Mine replied and had actually taken the time to answer all my questions. Sadly Mr Arbuthnott is one of the many who is in it up to his neck as far as the expences debacle is concerned but then are there any truly untainted? _________________ Darren Griffin |

have a look at http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk_politics/8044207.stm
quite interesting how someone from Glasgow can manage with £73k of expenses but the 3 bradford MP's needed over twice that amount! funny, i thought glasgow was further away from london than bradford was so surely they should have more expenses for all that extra travelling??

Why does Bradford need three MPs anyway? Perhaps it's so that they can rip off the taxpayer by a factor of three. |
