I'm thinking about replacing my 910 for a newer model maybe with a 940.
Now before i go ahead and and make a purchase do you know if TomTom have another version they could be bring onto the market in the near future.

They always "have another version they could be bring onto the market in the near future".
If you worry about this, you'll never buy anything. |

Alan, as you are considering the 940 ask yourself a few questions:
Do you intend to subscribe to the Live services at £8 per month?
Do you really need the Western & Central Europe PLUS North American map?
Do you intend to use the Line out audio socket or RDS-TMC receiver (needed while outside of the UK for traffic reception) will require additional hardware in way of a new mount?
If you are happy with the above three points then great choice, otherwise consider either the 730 or 930, and if you don't need handsfree or the mp3 playback look at the newer One XL-IQ Routes devices - Mike |

Hi Mike you made some interesting points there. I keep thinking to myself the 940 is a good bit of kit but will i use all its functions all the time. I will take another look at the 730 & 930 and the One XL-IQ routes.

I replaced a 910 with a 740, and am very happy with it. LIVE is, IMO, worth paying for and we only travel every month or so, but at peak times. But I didn't feel the 940 premium was worth paying, so the 740 gave me best value. If traffic and the google local search etc will never be of interest, the older models are probably worth considering. |
