On some motorway junction exits I get told to stay right on others I don't.

What are the rules, how do I make it consistant? Preferably turn it off.

If I set off down the M1, I get these instructions at the M18, M69 & A14. This also measn I do not know my time or distance on the M1 just until the next instruction.

Grateful for any help.

(TT930, latest software and up to date maps)

Once the images appear if you tap the screen they'll go away or you can turn them off

Change Preferences, Press the right arrow twice, Screen 3 of 8, Tap Hide Lane Images.

Thank you this is helpful.

I was also referring to the additonal instructions I get from Kate.

When I set off down the M1 I'm told to folow the M1 for 125 miles, yet my next instruction shows at only 30 miles. Kate seems to think I need reminding not to turn off the M1 onto the M18 etc

It is these reminders I want to stop.

Regards

I've owned Garmins and a TomTom. they both do that and you can't stop it. Never seen it as a problem really...

Yep, not a problem, just want to turn it off.

Would be nice to know how many miles I've got until I leave the M1.

On my previous GPS device, I got the message, Stay on XX, no further instructions for XX miles" I guess that's what you want. But then, I'm quite happy to have the reminders to avoid turning off the Motorway when there might be some doubt about which lane I'm supposed to be in to stay on it.

iwaddo, know what you mean mate.

I get the same, thinking of the M4, told to stay on it and head West - whatever for 136 miles. Sometimes I get a reminder to stay in the 'right lane' - how do I know which is the wrong lane?

It appears that I get a warning to stay right when the slip road is an extra lane that sweaps off top the left as opposed to the usual stubby 'off slip'.

Anyway, don't think we can alter/switch it off, it is how the software has been written.

The messages seem to occur when the device can't decide which route is the major road. This is mainly at motorway / motorway juctions but I have had it where two major A-routes diverge.

As satnav instructions are based on the principal that you stay on the main road until told to turn, when there are two 'main' roads the system has to make sure you take the correct one.

253, you'll probably find the 'Stay in right lane' only occurs when you are on a two-lane section as most of the time the instruction I get when there are 3 or more lanes is 'Keep right' even when the left hand lane only goes to the junction.

Ocassionally, you get the 'Stay in right lane' instruction even at lay-bys. It's a minor bug that TT will sort out on a case by case basis if you inform them.

Correct, but I think you'll find that they are all in fact bugs in the map. And need/should be recorded.

The latter displays the multiple arrows on left of (horizontal) status bar telling you the same thing as the "pretty" image in a less screen real estate.

There is also the option within change preferences - voice preferences - speech preferences - done (first screen brings up next screen) - disable "keep to motorway lane" instructions. This is on both the x40 and x30 models.

I've given up reporting these to TT because they've never fixed one yet. Ever!
