i presumed that I could get version 8.350 via TOMTOM Home but new version does not appear to be availlable.
Is this version not for the GO 300? |

It's for the x20, x30 and x40 models only. ie 520, 730 and 940 etc. |

This is the first time that I have used the forum and I am very impressed!!
Incidentally, is it possible to enlarge the speed font on the information bar?
It is becoming increasingly useful to have accurate speed info. I have used the TOMTOM to ensure that I keep to the limit as car speedos are about 10%. high.
Also, in one of the articles about Specs a correspondent claimed that they had been booked at 52mph. I suspect that his speedo was reading around 57mph so he probably had no cause to complain

Yes, but only by removing some of the other information.
If you go to Change Preferences / status bar preferences there are two pages of options of what to show. If you untick ALL of them except "Speed" the display is quite big. As you add more and more other bits of info. it all gets smaller and smaller to fit.
On my machines you can also set up an audio alert if you are driving faster then the speed limit set for the road in the map data, but I'm not sure if this works with the maps and software you have on the Go300.
(For me it is in Change Preferences/Safety Preferences/ Warn when driving faster then allowed.)
It also depends on the accuracy of the map data which is sometimes wrong and is non-existent for a lot of roads. |
