I have the MDPPC150 (purchased last week) and I am still confused about how this thing can be updated software wise. I have Medion Navigator 4.4 and Medion say you can purchase the lastest upgrade from their site in the near future. I notice that other folk who purchased this model have MN5.1 !
Can 4.4 be upgraded to 5.1 , and if so where do you get it ?
Can you use POI Warner or equivalent with 4.4 ?
If eventually I decide to upgrade to TT5 - what adjustments do we have to watch out for when making the change ? ( I have read posts about Baud rate etc and satellite signal information and so on) but would like someone to clarify the situation. I hope I haven't annoyed folk by asking for this. Many thanks ! |

Hi, has anyone tried the medion R3 firmware upgrade on the medion ppc200? I am running TT5 with the same problem of the sats not displaying. I am very tempted to use the upgrade but have been put off by the fact it may seriously screw up my system. I downloaded a firmware upgrade (not knowing what it was) for a memorex cd writer once - rubbish product and support btw - used it and without warning in a second it was unusable. |

No sat nav can learn new roads. Only a map update can do that. The Medion navigator v5 software is old now, several years in fact.
You would need to look on the Medion shop to see if they do a map update. |

I still use Medion Navigator 4.2 (Navteq maps) on my O2 Orbit phone, mainly for this site's cameras, which work perfectly with it.
I suppose it's a matter of luck and where you live/travel, but as far as I can tell, I've never had a problem with out of date maps.
As time goes on, however... |

ok thanks. iv just kinda made do with what i had for a while but they are building new roads and shutting old ones on A1 and other main roads where i live so thought id ask. thanks for the reply though, i didnt think id get one with the thread being so old . thanks for the welcome too.
i took your advise and looked for upgrades and found it was actually cheaper to buy a new navman s30 3d from littlewoods than to upgrade. thanks again, lee. |
