|

TomTom have this afternoon announced the public release of application version 8.350.
The notable features and fixes in this release are:
Re-enables route instructions through FM Transmitter (GO x20, GO x30 only)(only when music is also being transmitted).
Improves phone book transfer to the navigation device.
Also listed are 'Minor improvements' although it is not yet known what these consist of. As with all other application updates, this will be available via Tomtom HOME.

Installed it through home onto my 740. No immediate problems. Did require a hard reset after disconnecting it from my PC, despite Home saying it was doing this bit for me. Fairly smooth as far as TT upgrades go. |

This release seems to have fixed the 31mph bug.
Now that I have a satellite lock it my device tells me I am doing 0/30 mph instead of 0/31mph.
edit: like some other new navcores, when you browse the map it shows you a floating arrow tip that shows the distance to home/ destination, plus an arrow showing North in relation to the direction you should be heading.
edit2: operate my Go is working right off the bat too.

|
|
Hi,
I've noticed that on my new 930, that the sound mutes if the battery level drops below about 40%. Can other users of the 930 series please confirm whether or not this happens on their device? It only happens when a computer (Text to Speech) voice is selected and NOT when a basic pre-recorded voice is selected so I think this would only affect x30 models which support Text to Speech. I am also keen to see if this software update fixes the problem. This problem is reproducable in DEMO mode.
Nick. |

yes, I too couldn't install kate - looks like the stuttering computer voice problem has been fixed on my 520 by saying that computer voices are no longer supported on my device - a pain because the old unofficial version of the software had fixed the stuttering on my device. Now I can't download any computer voices. What's going on?! _________________ TOMTOM XL Live Western Europe |

Hope this helps. I'll be updating my sig, if I can get Kate working again! _________________ Ric - TomTom 520 DEAD - Passed to the great traffic jam in the sky. Now using Maps & Waze on Samsung Galaxy S4 + CamerAlert of course! |

Re-connect the device to ome and see if there are any updates for the device, as has already been reported above seem to need updating which should be an automatic process, if you don't get the updated voice files post back and we might be able to offer an alternate way to get the files required - Mike |

Having updated to ver 8.350 on my Go 540 Live I no longer have a list of telephone number to dial even though the TomTom says phone book download complete. My mobile is a Blackberry Storm 9500. All this worked fine on the previous version.
Any ideas? |
