8) I think they were there all along TT3 just had a major flaw and couldn't find them. Good to see it fixed though.

I've installed 3.04T (twice to check) and it reports itself as 3.02T. Also

the corrections that 3.03 users are reporting do not seem to be in 3.04T.

For instance Sutton Coldfield is not there.

Anyone else seen this!

However the jury is out on the BT GPRS connection with my Nokia 6310i phone. It didn’t connect when I asked for Traffic. However, when I tried MS Internet Explorer that connected via GPRS first time.

I too have the same problem with the BT GPRS connection. My phone is a Sony Ericsson T68i. Tom Tom starts the connection manager up (the bubble with the #99 dialling info) but fails to make a connection with the device. Trying to do it manually whilst TomTom is still running also results in a failure. Shutting down TomTom and connecting manually or through IE results in a successful connection. TomTom will then work quite happily with the new connection. I'm going to submit a question to support about it. I'll post the reply here when I get a response.

Seems to work ok, but when I first switched it on it showed my last destination, which was Preston (Lancs) as Preston (Scottish borders) Not a good start, I thought. But it is listed ok in the menu for address entry.
When I was waiting at some traffic lights to turn right at a junction, the map zoomed up really close, and seemed to be jumping around on the screen when I wasn't moving rather more than I remembered on the earlier version. But it seemed quite stable when driving

It bloody works !
I am a tad excited. I'm going out for a drive right now :P

My TomTom traffic is now automatically getting it 16th updated on the trot without any problems at all. Haven't tested the address lookup yet, but so far so very good.

The only slight niggle I have (and it is only very very very slight) is that when there are traffic delays, and TT goes and gets the next update, if the same delays exist then instead of TT saying "No New Incidents on Route" it says "No incidents on route". It will then update itself when the ticker starts again.

The update on the TT website says the following:-
What's new or improved in TomTom Navigator Plug-In 3.04T

On some GPRS networks, TomTom Navigator could no longer connect to the TomTom Traffic Server after requesting traffic updates a specific number of times. This version solves this issue.
On some GPRS networks, TomTom Navigator would receive less traffic incidents than it received over other Internet connections. This version solves this issue.

Some GPRS networks would not always forward a traffic update to the TomTom Traffic Server, but instead would return old information. This version solves this issue.

I can confirm the above as being correct! Thumbs Up

I can only comment about the 3.03 version for non-traffic users. I have not checked all the names mentioned in that thread but those I have are indeed there, Sutton Coldfield in particular.

My guess is that the 3.04T version did not really install, despite appearing to.

As I gave up on the traffic app I've just installed 3.03

Address lookup is now (probably fixed - definately much improved) i was able to find the correct high street for a village in cambridgeshire when I put the village in as the town.

The correct high street was the first on the list. tried this for 10 local villages and so far 10 out of 10.

Well done tomtom Thumbs Up - looks like we owe teleatlas an apology - just dodging programming in the first place. Sad

Thanks DavidW I'm sure your letter did have an effect 8)

Maybe a topic for another thread, but can you say why you gave up on Traffic? I was thinking of trying it . . .

Does your version report that it is 3.04T? To check just change to the map screen and click File-About.

Mine is 3.04T (430) which hopefully is the same as the released version. I got an early release from TT.

My version is 3.04T (432)

More than likely I think the reason iancjc was going to give up on TTT was the same one as me. It didn't work ! Connected only twice, hardly downloaded any info when it did connect, was basically a waste of time. However I am now a very happy bunny. Everything I wanted from a SatNav app I now have in TT3T. And it works.

Hi All

Don't know if anybody else had thought of trying this.
Having had so many problems with the old Traffic system I thought that I would ask TomTom to reset my traffic account as I have not been able to use it.

This is their reply.

"Dear Mr XXXX,

This is a free trail period and we are unable to extend or restart your account.

With best regards,

The TomTom Customer Support Team"

8O

Oh well I will only be able to test the system for 2 months instead of 3.

I shall continue to try it for free for the next two months and if it doesn’t perform as it should, i.e. drops GPRS or won't connect, then I won't pay for the subscription and will revert to the non Traffic version of TTNav.

I think I read somewhere that the UK is the country with the biggest number of people running the free trial. If people don’t subscribe to the service after the trial has ended then TomTom would be well advised to look into the reason why. Thumbs Up

Regards,

Indeed the UK have the largest number of subscribers acording to TomTom.

Not suprising with the state of the Traffic Jam known as the M25.
