You just have to plug it into Tomtom Home, and it will tell you if there are any updates.
I get mapshare updates daily or every other day.
Don't forget to make a backup before you use Tomtom Home! _________________ Tomtom GO 1005 LIVE

You might like to have a browse around the forum in relation to Mapshare. Some people (I'm one) think they are unreliable and therefore never ever download them. _________________ Dennis

They are unreliable. I only use the 'safest' setting, corrections verified by TomTom. |

With the unit connected and Home running, in Home's menu: Tools--Map Share--Mapshare Preferences, you see a screen with a slider for degree of restrictiveness of mapshares you want.
Setting it to High will get that option. _________________ David |

And if you find yourself unhappy with corrections verified (!) by TomTom, on the device you can uncheck every correction and not use any of them, except those made by yourself - with luck, you may trust yourself (so long as you don't go making corrections to the speed limits ). _________________ Dennis
