|
|
Hello everyone,
I have the 940 with live services and have recently needed to start looking for the best diesel prices. I find that the prices have not refreshed even though I have updated them via home every few days over the last month. The diesel prices are still showing around the £1.00 mark even though the majority of these stations are selling at 1.04
Does anyone else still have the 'old' prices in their machine, I was thinking perhaps mine is just not refreshing the information. Or maybe that's just the best it does?? |

Prices can be up to 5 days old, so I'd never really use it as a reliable source of info, just a guide as to which place is probably the cheapest.... |

Thanks for your answer Paul, prices are up to 5 days old. I'm finding that prices showing are much older than that and they never update when I update via home.
For example if I look for petrol by distance there are some shell garages showing 0.96 which is way more than 5 days old. |

I'm surprised that the Live services would have old fuel prices. It's pretty easy to get current prices by simply using one of the CC reporting services for the data. MSNDirect's fuel prices in the US are available (in many cases) based on the prices paid today. It's even noted whether the price shown if from today, yesterday, etc. _________________ Garmin 1695 / 255 / 760 w/MSN - Droid w/Google nav + Navigon - Navigon 8100T - Dakota10 - GPSMap76C - GeoMate Jr. |

Are you offered updates at all via Home? Or are you offered them but it seems to have no effect?
To be honest i've not watched the prices but i've just updated so i'll make a note of the current prices here and see what they are at the end of the week...
Super Unleaded
0.40M 0.99 BP
0.55M 1.00 TOTAL
0.75M 0.98 BP
1.10M 0.99 BP
1.10M 0.98 TOTAL
1.10M 0.97 TOTAL
I'll check these later this week...
gatorguy6996 - Sadly it's not the same in the UK (or maybe even Europe) as it clearly states "Prices may be up to 5 days old" at the bottom of the screen i'm looking at now. |

My diesel prices are showing as 0.99 "cheapest nearby"
and the 5 nearest to home are showing as 1.00, 1.00, 1.02, 1.00, 0.99, and 1.01
Petrol Prices.com shows them as
101.9p, 102.9p, 102.9p, 102.9p, 102.9p
One way to force the prices to refresh is to select a different fuel type. The numbers downloaded really should be different. Then re-select your original fuel type and see what the numbers come out as now. |

I've had 2 downloads tonight off TT Home and changing fuel type hasn't made a difference. Maybe next week... |

Just to add my experiences, I too find that TT fuel prices sre completly out of date. If petrolprices.com can get consistantly very close why can't TT? It's got to the stage that to me it's nor worth using. yet another reason for not renewing live. _________________ Go740L App 9.510 Europe 985.8155

Yep, agree with all the above - prices are weeks out of date even though it updates every time I connect with Home - I tend to use it as PaulB says, as a guide to where the cheapest will probably be. |

Just checked my fuel prices, and at my local tesco (where I work) it has been 94.9p for unleaded for quite a few days now. More than the 5 days TT claims the data MAY be.
Looking on the fuel prices service now, it is claiming it is 89.9p at this garage. Hmm, somethings not right here! _________________ Tomtom GO 1005 LIVE

The 2p tax rise doesn't come into effect until September.
Prices around here are also out, although I don't pay close enough attention to them to tell if they're out by more than 5 days. |
