how do I backup my tomtom on windows explorer, step by step please if anyone could assist. also I have just bought an sd card of the latest tomtom maps I have version 8.302 western europe v715.1703.on my tomtom now, when I insert the sd card the only difference is i have more voices on, and iI lose Kate the computer voice.the maps are the same as i allready have.these must be eighteen months or more old.have I been sent the wrong map version, also with card inserted the version details read the same.Is this reading what is on the card or the version installed on the tomtom memory.one more thing the up to date cameras on both card and device are well out of date they are suposed to be the latest?
many thanks to anyone who may come up with an explanation.

The backup procedure can be found in the TomTom FAQ here. See ".How to back up my device to the computer"
As for the card what did you order, from who and where did you buy it from? |

Always read it from the Device itself. Tap the satellite signal strength graphic, then tap the small box that says Version x.xxx, to give a page of information all about the Unit, and what is on it. _________________ Richard

As far as I'm aware, v825 maps are ONLY available via download from TomTom themselves and are NOT available on SD card from them or from anyone else.
Any maps you see for sale on a card are likely to be very old (as often seen on eBay and the like...)
The best way to check the version of the map is to open the mapname.pna file in the map folder with a text editor (such as Notepad).
The third and forth lines give the version and build numbers.
It would be interesting to hear what yours are... |
