|
|
Hi,
I am pretty puzzled, I used to have navigation sound albeit with a severe stutter, however now I have no voice!
The speaker is still working, I installed an MP3 and that plays fine, so once again it seems its a software fault.
I am running v8.302 - Please any advice/help would be greatly appreciated.
On another point - its a bit of a rant, I got this 720 in 2007, I had to take the first one back as the phone calls did not work, this second one has never really been right. I mean what with stutters, crashes, and many other faults!
How can they get away with this?
Rant over - I hope someone can fix my sound for me!
Thanks |

Assuming you have a voice option selected, try a soft reset (paper clip in reset hole underneath). _________________ Darren Griffin |

Switch it on and go to Change Preferences/ Speaker Preferences and select built in speaker for both the Spoken instructions and music, now see what the device does, if you had set it to line out/ BT or FM then you sometimes hear nothing - Mike |

Know it may sound daft, have you got the volume turned up?
it happened to me today on my 720 for no reason i can think of. was working, turned it off when I got out of the car. 45 mins later, back in, turn it on and drive off. Nothing. Turned it off and on again, nothing. Strange i thought. Checked the volume slider and it was down to lowest!! Turned it to 75% and all is well again.
Funny one that. _________________ Triumph Tbird 1700. And now a Bonnie T100. |

Thanks for the efforts so far, but I do have the volume up.
As I said before MP3 fine, no voices, no sound when I do a reset, wont read traffic, and when I make a call can not hear the other person.

What are the settings you have got within Change Preferences/ Speaker Preferences for both the Nav voice and the music? - Mike |

Just a thought - I recently found that the sound stopped working on my 930T when I ran it with the power lead disconnected. It started working again when I plugged the lead back in. I wondered whether it was to preserve power, but I don't remember my old 700 doing that. |

Jack, thats a very valid point, with the newer software if the device is low on battery capacity it does tend to knock the sound off, give the unit a full charge and try again as this might answer whats wrong - its a shame the software doesn't give any indication of the audio being muted automatically though - Mike |

Sat with it now - no sound.
You would think the sound would work while i have it plugged in to the USB (imitating the environment when its charging in the car) surely it does not knock the sound off when its charging, if it does you would hardly ever hear the bloody sound!!!
Getting very off!
Thanks for the suggestions! |
