excuse me for being thick but what is the use of the slot/ memory card as there is no mention of this in the manual can you but new maps on it ! what is its function ! photo's etc. iannn. |

You can install more maps on the card if you run out of space on internal flash, also handy for installing maps when you go overseas for a trip and don't need those maps on your unit all the time. You can also put photos there (you can copy photos back and forth on the unit itself, although that's more useful on S90i which has camera). |

so how does the unit use the other maps i.e if you loaded european maps on the sd card how does the access the maps or do you just enter a location, cheers iannnn. |

Unit asks on start up (or when you insert card with maps) which continent you want loaded (if you have maps for more than one continent). If maps for selected continent are split between internal memory and SD card I think it will just combine and use them automatically. I haven't tried this in a long time but older Navman devices did this without any problems. |
