|
|
I use a Garmin in the car but I need something for the bike to give me an accurate speedo.
Having checked the accuracy of my bike's speedo with both the inbuilt GPS of a previous Nokia E90 and my Navman B10 unit bluetoothed to my Asus M530W, I find that I need a competent GPS speedo (the innacuracy is compounded by the very poor MPH display compared to the KPH figures)
(Even better would be a plain LCD speed display that simply Bluetooths to my Navman B10)
Quick research says that there is no inexpensive pure GPS speedo available but that a SCD system might do the job.
CD for simple GPS speedometer display - it must be inexpensive (sub £100), easy to fit to a bike (GP800), and easy to read while riding ?
Any thoughts ?

I think I've partially answered my own question as the Talex or Indic8or seem to fit the bill
Any thoughts on which one is better (as a speedo, irrespective of their ability to warn of speed cameras)

But are they not all electro mechanical? This will still cause inherent calibration problems and errors, and the OP specifically asked about GPS speedos. |

Thanks for your thoughts but M8TJT is right - those other options are all very well but they are
A) Expensive and
B) Not easy to integrate onto a GP800 (Italian electrics !)
The Talex or Indic8tor are sub £60, plug into a cigarette lighter socket and can easily be recessed into the dash panel of the GP800 _________________ Terry

Nice car Terry, but I'd be concerned that your partner Carol is driving Rob around rather than you |
