Over here

They have this Active 10 PLUS New For 2009, Available 1st Week In April.

It has:

V 1.321 Softwear
World Base Maps 1:5m & 1.30m
Full GB Postcode Search
UK Base Map 1:250k & 1:1m

How does this laeve earlier purchasers? is this a hardware update? or a firmware update we can all have? Does the current version have postcode search?

NICE Surprised

Only ordered my Active 10 ten days ago and asked them if there was a new version being released in the next few weeks? - their answer was "NO"

I've asked Satmap about this. Perhaps mikealder could also ask them at the NEC Outdoors show on Friday if he gets a chance??

I was slightly miffed seeing as I bought mine in January.

Then I saw the price! No thanks...got mine for £240 and not that fussed about a postcode searcher. Do mountains have postcodes? Laughing

Mike
could you please also ask if there is any likely hood of there ever being a Mac link to the A10. It was promised well over a year ago agojavascript:emoticon('Wink')
I know one can use emulation etc, but it really is antiquarian and frankly a painfully slow process. Tell them Routebuddy (who are only down the road in Cranleigh) who have very fine desktop Mac map software would, I am sure, love to get stuck injavascript:emoticon('Question')

I'm told that it will be coming this year, Q3 was mooted. I too will welcome its arrival as I have to retain an XP and Vista Image now. I prefer XP as its faster but can only get SatSync working under Vista.

I have RouteBuddy but have never been that impressed with it, it's very slow and creates some baffling routes?

Doesn't really look like a new model, does it? Same hardware, different pack of software and maps, for a fair bit more money. Like others here, I've not had my SatMap long, but I don't think there's anything to get upset about here!

Seems odd to me that this should break from an ebay trader, rather than one of the more established dealers. They may, however, have broken an embargo on something to be announced at the Outdoor Show.

The spelling mistakes seem to rule out a copy and paste job from a Satmap release.

Could these be grey imports intended for other markets? Or even an April Fool prank?

Software version 1.231 (as opposed to 1.321) is the current Dutch release.

I'll bet they have simply leaked a new product ahead of an official announcement. Satmap will not be best pleased!

I find it strange that any new model/firmware is featured first on a shop website rather than being showcased on the Satmap site, unless Footsteps have "jumped the gun".

It also makes me wonder if at some future date Satmap will start to charge for firmware updates other than those that correct problems but install added features ( like the Postcode Lookup).

As a Mac user who chooses NOT to maintain a Windows image, this cannot happen soon enough for me! I currently save my routes to SD card in the Active 10, but the ability to keep my data library on my Mac is something I'm really looking forward to.
If the folks at Satmap are reading this, please, please, please, get this software out ASAP! I'd have to say that the lack of this functionality is now the only remaining weak point in an otherwise superb navigation system. Oh, and contacting RouteBuddy with a view to them supporting the SatMap would be good too!

Hi

I notice that the £80 only gives you access to the route planner for 1 year! according to the Satmap site 'Purchase of the Route Planner and Route Share Network package provides access to the web applications for a period of one year, and users must agree to the terms and conditions of use when they first log in.' A lot of money for 1 year I think.

I assume this means that we are getting it for free at the moment will have to pay next year?
