|
|
Just got my 2500 mount but I am experiencing some slight background noise at 'normal' listening levels using a 3950. Didn't notice this on my Arkon Powered mount with speaker.
I also note that the cover has to remain fitted to the 2500 for it to slip into the cradle.

i also received my mount this morning, and am getting the same background noise, even at the lowest setting!! Its like a tapping sound, and i get it when there is no other sound being played from the pda.
Any ideas whether my unit is faulty? |

Yup. Mine also gets VERY HOT with the 3950 in the cradle. So hot that I now don't use it! Probably give my 3950 heat stroke! Have emailed Seidio about it.
BTW can one connect a bluetooth headset to the 2210 - if so, how?

I was also looking at buying one of these.
Is there any more kits like this for the 4150?
Need one that will charge both Ipaq & TT GPS

Well Graham mentions Arkon in his post (above). There is also Brodit but I don't think they have their own speaker - which I assume you want just like me due to the poor sound of the Ipaq on it's own. _________________ ___________

Still no reply from Seido over my egg-frying 2500.
Anyone know if the Ipaqs' will passively drive a small speaker?

Just read this and tested mine and sure enough I get the background noise. Is there a solution. Does it occur in all of these mounts or just particular ones for certain PDA's?

I read about this problem a while ago. I think it was on the GPS passion forum and the seidio guys replying on that seemed like amateur electronics guys as one forum member told them how to put it right.
I went for the Arkon powered mount instead and would highly recommend it to anyone thinking about getting a mount.
Works like a charm. I even use it sideways in the rear to play movies on the ipaq to keep the kids quite on a long journey.
Took it to Germany last week and no problems in sweltering heat inside a ford galaxy. _________________ Ipaq 4150, Polstar PBT-111, TomTom3, Kingston 256mb SD, Arkon Powered Amplified PDA Mount |

The noise isn't such a big problem as the egg-frying ability of the 2500.
It has been dumped in my ever increasing 'box of useless buys'
Still no reply from Seidio - so what, they've got their money!

Graham - di you buy directly from Seidio? if not you I thought you would be entitled to cover from the retailer
I spoke to a retailer about this mount and specifically your problem (because I want to get one) and he said that he had only had "a handful of mounts with the speaker problem - all of which had been returned and replaced" - may be you got one off the production line on Friday afternoon if such a thing happens in this high tech world these days |
