Can you get the tomtom 920t to tell you what junction you are nearing on the motorways |

I've got a 720 with the latest maps and stuff.
If i have a route planned then the junction number appears at the top of the screen with the junction, and then gradually creeps closer until it's there, so to speak.
At least it did coming up the M4 to Wales last Friday morning. _________________ Triumph Tbird 1700. And now a Bonnie T100. |

That would only tell you the junction number you are leaving at though (or sometimes a junction where TT thinks you have to make a decision to "keep right" to stay on the motorway.
Actually the issue of junction numbers is not very well thought through on a TomTom. For example, if you hear on the radio that there is a problem after junction "x", it is almost impossible to tell the machine to re-route you off at that exit.
The best solution I have found is to install the "Motorway Entrance" and "Motorway exit" POI files from here (you need them both).
Not a perfect solution, but it helps.
For example, you can browse map and search for those POIs "on your route" the closest one to you will be the next one!
(Edited for typo on the words "very well" in 2nd para.)

Ahhhh, interesting Andy.
Noticed at j17 and outside Bristol, and i was being told to stay in the 'right lane'. Don't look at the thing that much so never noticed it before, now I suppose i'l be checking at every junction - when i remember that is.
Thinking about the OP and your reply, it would have been a handy option to have the numbers though wouldn't it. _________________ Triumph Tbird 1700. And now a Bonnie T100. |
