TomTom rolled out it's anticipated North American map subscription earlier today in a "soft" release. For now their won't be a formal press release announcement. Similar to the European map subscription program, subscribers will be offered 4 quarterly updates for about $50 US, plus the cost to bring their map current, based on a sliding scale. For instance, those using 8.15 release will pay only about $14 to bring their map up to date, concurrent with the purchase of the map subscription. _________________ Garmin 1695 / 255 / 760 w/MSN - Droid w/Google nav + Navigon - Navigon 8100T - Dakota10 - GPSMap76C - GeoMate Jr. |

Darn, gator, I posted 2 minutes after you.
To Admins......please, I asked a question in mine so don't lock my thread or just merge with gator's. Thank you. _________________ David |

I gave you over an hour.
I'd like to know the answer to your question as well. If the EU subscription wasn't announced at the same time as the map release, how did they handle those that had already purchased the update? Will be helpful to know if complaints arise in the North American forums. _________________ Garmin 1695 / 255 / 760 w/MSN - Droid w/Google nav + Navigon - Navigon 8100T - Dakota10 - GPSMap76C - GeoMate Jr. |

The update subscription cost is calculated on a per user basis. if you have a more recent map then the cost is lower. _________________ Darren Griffin |

A US poster who just forked out $100 for 825 a week ago was offered the subscription but it said no updates available at this time so I suspect the deal will 'kick in' when the next map (about 3 months from now) is available. _________________ David |

I'm using 8.010 on my TT XL. I purchased the newest map [US & Canada v 825.2159] a little over a week ago. Now, TT Home says "New Maps available" and wants me to subscribe quarterly. Is it worth it. I used to get map correction each time I connected to TT Home. What gives... |

If I am logged in to Home it does not offer me the map update service for the NA map but as soon as I log out it does at £8.95 to go from 8.15 to 8.25 then £35.80 for the year and it will take me to the checkout where it auto logs me in. _________________ Drivelux |
