Hi Mike, thanks... its just that I had an email from TT to say download the latest release of maps, and my TT Home keeps telling me to down load a map and its a version 660 which so I am told by TT is that that is not the map for this device but can't figure out why home keeps telling me I need it... but as long as what I have is all uptodate thats fine, thanks for the quick reply.. _________________ Regards Steve :-) |

When you created the account via TomTom Home for the new device did you re-use an e-mail address that has previously been used for an earlier device? - if so the system is trying to offer you a map for a previous TomTom product - I got caught out with this a while back, you really do need to use a unique e-mail address for each devcie - Mike |

Two unconnected things going on here.....
The email is just a general marketing mail-shot.
We all got it, even people who are already signed up to the map update subscription service.
The v6 map issue is exactly as Mike says. It will be one you bought for a previous machine. I had exactly the same situation.
If the constant nagging about the v6 map annoys you, just download it!
I let it download, and was going to stop it installing on the Go (or delete it afterwards if I couldn't), but when I did, it actually failed to install anyway! So it now sits on my PC hardisk (wasting space), but that stops Home continually offering it to me. |

Hi Mike and Andy P thanks for the replies, something TT just sent me was...
".....The V6.6 map is from a few years ago, the V8.25 map is the newest release. We are trying to remove the old map but a technical issue is causing it to be offered again.
Please dis-regard the older map until we solve the problem..."
So they have a problem. _________________ Regards Steve :-) |

If you don't have an issue with bandwidth simply let Home download the map it thinks it wants (the v660) like Andy said it will be stored on the PC but at least you don't get offered the download from that point on - Mike |
