|
|
I purchased a GO 530 on Saturday which came with a free 2 year map update voucher. After installing all the updates I tried to activate the free 2 year map update voucher but I keep getting the following message.
"The activation code you entered is valid but the associated product doesn't work with your device type or with the version of the application you have installed on it. Please install the latest version of the device application by clicking 'Update my device' in the main menu. Then enter your activation code again.
As soon as you activate your code, the associated product will be available for download and/or use. "
Any ideas anyone? |

I've never heard of a 2yr map update voucher? You'll have to contact TomTom to query this. _________________ Darren Griffin |

Where did you purchase the device from?
There has been at least one other post recently that mentioned a 2 year map update scheme see Here it was made in the last week or so, I wonder if this is something new with certain devices from specific suppliers.
To contact TomTom give them a ring in the morning on 0845 161 0009 - Mike |

There appears to be an offer on selected GO models at the moment, with a free 2 year map update.
Halfords selling a GO530 as an example here. |

In another forum a user in Switzerland says he was just offered 2 years of free maps for 730T's and 740's. _________________ David |

I wonder if these are accidental (or intentional) "grey imports" intended for another country? |

I imagine they're just trying to clear some warehouse space. TT is still seriously overstocked. _________________ Garmin 1695 / 255 / 760 w/MSN - Droid w/Google nav + Navigon - Navigon 8100T - Dakota10 - GPSMap76C - GeoMate Jr. |

When you read the following it would appear these cards are being given away (probably a mistake by the shop) but quite a bargain even if you only get a single map for free!
hotukdeals.com wrote: | Was in Comet on Friday evening and I picked up a card from the TomTom stand.
The card says:
+2 Years Free Map Update Service (worth £69.95)
I tried over the weekend on my GO 730T, which I brought Sept 08. The code allowed me to upgrade to the 8.15 2GB Euro Map (upgraded from 8.10). There is a newer map (8.25) not sure why I wasn't given this update.
Anyway now when I click on the option from TT Home to add maps, the window that says "Do you want to join the Map Update Service" is no longer displayed. I'm guessing this has worked but worst case I got a free map update out of it!
Note this only works on the GO models. The Comet I went to was in Greenwich. |

I purchased the GO 530 in my local branch of PC world and was giving the voucher. There is a promotion on at the moment on the GO's 530, 730 and 930 for the free map updates. I have emailed TomTom on Sunday, still waiting for their reply. I posted on here in the hope that somebody had an answer, I don't know how long TomTom will take to reply? |

The two year maps seems a standard option now.

Very confusing this one. I just bought a GO930 from Currys and didn't receive a voucher even though they have it advertised as Free 2 Years on the website. Called customer services at Currys and they have told me that once I register on TomTom they will send a voucher out.
Has anyone else bought from Currys and what did they say? |

I bought mine from PC World (same group), I did receive a voucher but it will not activate. After nearly 2 weeks TomTom support has still not sorted out my problem.
I would be very surprised if you registered you received your 'free 2 year map update'. All you can do is try it. |
