|
|
Hello all, I was just wondering if anyone knows how to check if a poi has been added to the standard poi database?
My friend has a business which was not featuring on any tomtom's poi's so we went to tele atlas a few months ago and suggested it as an addition.
Now we want to check if it has been added but don't know how to check without buying a new tomtom.
Thanks for any help. |

The latest TomTom maps were only released this week.
So if you post the details here, someone with the new maps could look for it on them.
But the actual maps are usually months or sometimes years behind reality, I don't know if POIs are the same. |

Thanks Andy, in that case, if someone who has the new maps/pois could let me know, I'll send them the details.
Thanks |

I'm sure lots of people would be happy to help if they knew what they were looking for.

Yup, there's a hotel in Kent listed.
(I can't promise it's the right one mind.)

Do I get the feeling you don't want to post it here?
I'm just downloading the v825 maps now so if you want to PM me the full details I'll be able to look tomorrow, |

Is it a secret hotel? Doesn't your friend want to advertise it's location? If your friend has asked for it to be added as a POI his secret may get out. _________________ Paul |

If you still want to keep it "secret squirrel", post a lat&long and someone will post back the names of the 5 closest hotels.
'Course if its really really secret, you could always buy the map and look for yourself! _________________ Jock

Thanks for the replies guys. It is not a secret, but I just don't like putting personal relevant information about myself or my family/friends online on any website.
It is easy for people to gather quite a bit of info about people by simply trawling through old posts/websites etc and gathering quite a bit of info. And I am just wary when I hear all the stories on the news.
Thanks for the help though guys, I don't mind pm'ing details as it ain't really a secret but I just don't want it visible to everyone and anyone, hope this makes some sort of sense.
Thanks |

Then your friend might not want his POI on the map. Word might get out. _________________ Garmin 1695 / 255 / 760 w/MSN - Droid w/Google nav + Navigon - Navigon 8100T - Dakota10 - GPSMap76C - GeoMate Jr. |
