i have looked to no avail
how does one cancel the flashing and bleeps while putting the Satmap
on recharge.
I ask as was talking to someone who is rather irritated by this practice; i in the meanwhile managed to disable it BUT age has mucked up the memory. |

Just go to Settings/ Power Control and change the "Alert When Screen Off" option to "OFF"
This beeping and flashing used to drive me up the wall as its enough to wake you up through the night! - Mike |

I've yet to hear any beep from my Satmap!
I've turned the volume up to max in the setup.
I don't have rechargeable batteries.
When should I hear a beep? |

Ashley,
What was being referred to was the beeping and screen flashing when the Active10 is either being charged with the screen display off or is being used with the screen programmed to go off after a certain time interval and the unit flashes and beeps to let you know it is still there.
I find it reassuring in a way but others don't so you can turn it off as Mike has described.
