With all the hassle with TT at the moment. The fact they don't give a stuff about there customers. The products don't work as they should in a lot of cases. I am looking at forgetting TT in favour of a Garmin 765T.
Does anyone know how Garmin fair as a company? Whats the 765 like compared with a 930? Or would I be buying more of the same?

On contacting TT twice about problems they took 3 weeks to fix both (both map updates - not working via TT HOME).

Having contacted Garmin also twice, they sorted the problem within 3 days on both occasions (one map update problem - one unit problem).

So those are my personal results, all in the last 3 months.

If you indeed are using version 8.3 with a map 7.05 for the 720, the question isn't why TT creates a hassle but rather, why YOU would choose to create a hassle for yourself by using a firmware version not geared to your map??!!

I went for the 865T
https://buy.garmin.com/shop/shop.do?cID=134&pID=33923

Granted, cost more but if you get it quick it comes with free unit lifetime map updates for Europe.

And as a bonus it seems to actually work Smile

G4GVB,

Here are some navcore links for the x20
(Yes I know some are missing)
I am thinking you should be running 8.010 the one in bold

Speaking of older navcores, has anyone ever used 8.051?

Version 8.010 works well with your map. You only need version 8.3/8.301 if you have maps 815 or 825.

I was running 8.010 before upgrading. The problem I had is still there and has been through 3 App Soft revisions. Thanks anyway....
