|
|
Tom Tom have announced the release of the 8.25 maps in their map store.
The map store also now makes it easier to see what changes have been made in the maps themselves.
Also the selection process to identify maps suitable for your device has been simplified.
The TomTom Map Store can be found here.

I must be missing something as I cannot see anything telling me the difference between 8.15 & 8.25. Can you point me in the right direction? _________________ Drivelux |

I couldn't find that information. Am I just being thick? Can you nudge me in the right direction please? _________________ Paul |

I've been offered it as an update. It says it's a Quote: | detailed map seamlessly covering Western Europe (99.9%) unsimplified version | I wonder what the "(99.9%) unsimplified version" means _________________ TT Go Essential |

The 2gb versions of the maps are simplified to fit in the given space (look at the file sizes). Tomtom have previously confirmed to me that for instance the Western Europe map 2gb version has around half the routing in Russia that the full version (as would be installed on a 940) has.
So buying a 940 gets you better Europe maps than buying a 740.... |

Honestly, I can't find anything new on my WE map. Even major road changes, like the positioning of the A2 near Gravesend in Kent mentioned elsewhere on these forums don't appear on this map (although it's hard to tell four sure without driving it). All of the multiple corrections I made to turn restrictions near where I live are still missing, as are all the house numbers on the road I live on. This data is even present on ancient v6 maps.
Just the usual lazy stuff from TT. |

I have recently replaced my tomtom go 520 after it was stolen. I have now updated tomtom home to the latest beta version. When I connect my new 530 it always asks me if I want to associate my new device to my account which I say yes to. It then goes and searches for updates.
Today it asked me to install map 8.25.2517 which I did. When I started my 530 I got an error message saying this map cannot be used on this device.
I have purchased the 4 maps per year. Why is this map shown as an update when it is not to be used on my device?
Is anybody else having a problem installing the map update? Is this because I originally purchesd the map updates for my 520 and have replaced it with a 530? |

Yes you have a map update subscription for a specific 520 and not a 530 and it will not currenlty work on the 530. However, as they both use the same maps, I would expect TomTom to transfer the service across to the new device if requested. Contact customer support and ask them. _________________ Drivelux |

That would be odd indeed. . . unless what TT has done is integrated the mapshare changes they said would finally be included with update as just that: Mapshare changes. Very strange. Can anyone else confirm the same? _________________ Garmin 1695 / 255 / 760 w/MSN - Droid w/Google nav + Navigon - Navigon 8100T - Dakota10 - GPSMap76C - GeoMate Jr. |

Anyone who was suffering from stutter/lag with 8.300 or 8.301 on x20s noticed any difference with the new map?
Or has everyone just given up and are running 8.320 instead?

I took out the update subscription for my 920 and it asked to download and install the new maps a couple of hours ago so I did now like a previous member I get the message"maps cannot be used on this device" as my 920 is the only one I've connected to tomtom home where am I going wrong?
Help please.
Have also tried to restore to a backup done last week and I cannot get my UK and Ireland map back.
Wo is me I need the damn thing for work on Monday. Have contacted TomTom for help. I would assume they're gonna be very busy.

Went to update the maps om my 740.
Download failed around 10%.
Kept trying and it kept failling.
Disconnet from tomtom home and then my tomtom tells me I have no maps.
Restore from a backup done Nov.
Home tells me there is a map update, but fails straight away trying to down load.
Anyone else having problems downloading the Map update. |

I'm sure I read somewhere that the current map update isn't for the X40s and that the update for those devices will follow. I think itwas somewhere on TomTom.com. _________________ TT Go Essential |
