|

The new maps are out, v8.25, but there seems to be no new application as some predicted and TT support even said sometimes. Maybe thats because I am running an x40 and we do not suffer from the stutter.
Have any x20/x30 owners been offered the new map with no new application? _________________ Tomtom GO 1005 LIVE

Defeats the point of the LMG then!
815 is no longer the latest. |

Does this mean you will only get the new 8.25 maps if you turn on your TomTom for the first time from today?
Anyone tried this yet? |

I have just checked on the TomTom website and it says:
"Check within 30 days
Latest map guarantee means that if a newer map is released during 30 days from when you first start using your device, you’re entitled to one free map download.
You can check as often as you wish during your 30 day guarantee to see if a newer map has been released."
I enboldend the bit which appears to contradict the email Silversurfer received.

Just downloaded v825 UK and Ireland maps and copied my favourites across. Seems to be OK but yet again after more than 2 years a roundabout that subsequently became a 'staggered' cross roads at the SW end of Pipers Way in Swindon is still incorrect.
I begin to wonder whether these updates are all a bit of a con, just another revenue stream
It was interesting to note that TT stated elsewhere that 15% of road information changes each year , the key being the word 'information' since of course if 15% of roads changed each year we would have a completely new network very 7 years or so
So I wonder just how much of the road LAYOUT changes each time a map is released. One doesn't see much road construction going on during these credit crunch days..... |

I've got the 810 maps that were supplied with my 740 and I've checked LMG for the first time. All it says is new maps are available but it doesn't tell me which one. I don't want to go a click too far and download the 815 map if the 825 is available so if i click Get It Now is that it or is there more steps? |

So it would appear the rumored North American map subscription is still not being offered. I just can't affford to pay $130 US for a one-off update, and it's beginning to be more apparent that a NA subscription is not forthcoming.
It is good to see the new maps will be taking advantage of the current Navcore we've all come to know and love. _________________ Garmin 1695 / 255 / 760 w/MSN - Droid w/Google nav + Navigon - Navigon 8100T - Dakota10 - GPSMap76C - GeoMate Jr. |
