|
|
Hi Guys,
I have only had the unit a couple of days and I am already having trouble with it.
Basically I went to turn it on and it will not power up, I thought maybe it was the battery so I put it on charge. The green light shines as if it is charging but I have left it 20 mins and tried to power up and NOTHING
I have tried resetting the unit then turning it on but to no avail!
Any ideas? |

What does it do if you plug it in to the PC? can you see the device as a drive letter in Windows Explorer.
Also when you depress the reset switch can you feel it being pressed or does it not seem to move? you should feel and hear a slight click as it is pressed - Mike |

The reset switch depresses and I held it down for 30 seconds, then I tried powering it on. Nothing comes on....it also will not connect to the laptop with any drive letter! |

Have you put an SD card in it? - if so try it with the card out.
One other thing you could try if you have a full Windows Explorer back up and an SD card large enough if to copy the back up from the PC to the card, then insert the memory card and see if it will boot up from that.
Eitherway it doesn't soound to good, if its a new unit I would take it back and demand a replacement - Mike |

I do not have an SD in it. But I do have a 16gb SDHC which I could put the data on. I am not sure what you mean by a full windows explorer back up but when I first bought it and updated all the files etc I made a copy of the whole TT drive. Is this the same?
Shall I just load this onto the SD and try this? |

Yes you can put all the files and folder straight on the SDHC then put that in the unit, then see if it will boot up and work - Mike |

Right I have loaded them all onto the SDHC and then placed this into the unit and pressed the reset button....it still wont power on.
The annoying thing is when I dock it the green power light comes on! But it just wont connect or turn on! |

Have you tried it in the car using the cigar lighter lead, I have had a faulty USB cable in the past. _________________ (GO 730)(One v2 New ED) and still no wiser |

Give it 15 minutes with the car charger powering it up, if it won't power up after that send the device back - Mike |

The 930 also comes with a remote and EPT (Enhanced Positioning Technology, I think), a series of gyroscopes, etc. to assist in determining your location in tunnels or other locations where the gps signal is lost. As well, the 930T comes with 4 gigs of internal storage, _________________ David |
