You mean it isn't true?
Damn, you will be telling us Santa Claus isn't real next.

Guess what? Today, when I was 75 miles away from home, one of the Andys texted me to say "New Maps" - And I actually believed it! I was just a bit harsh with my reply when he later sent "Only Joking!" _________________ Dennis

Not guilty - must have been Andy_P!
If I knew your mobile number it would have been me though!
Anyone up for a bet on my prediction of Friday?
And like an idiot I checked at 7 this morning before leaving home just in case you had some inside info .......

I couldn't possibly say who it was, but it wasn't Andy_P.
DennisN's reply to the follow up "only joking" text was pretty much as expected _________________ Andy

What we need is to catch hold of some Beta tester and sit him in front of a bright light, pump him full of truth serum and ask him if he's sent off his reports yet (or even, if he's received the Beta version yet!!! - the one and only time they let me into a map Beta was over a year ago and it arrived weeks after it was intended).
At least we know one way to get TT Support to tell us the truth - ask them if they know when the next new map is coming out and they'll say they don't know! _________________ Dennis

They might say "what's a new map?" _________________ Andy

Tried that, he still didn't crack.
That NDA pill they give them is mighty strong and truth serum is ineffective against it.

Dennis, You need a new crystal ball mate - My money is on the 09/04/09 date, quite a way off for sure, but remember the last release was three or four weeks early - If the next one was a couple of weeks late then it will fit the calendar pattern - Mike |

Dennis, You need a new crystal ball mate - My money is on the 09/04/09 date | Here, hang on! Isn't that the magic Netherlands never ending Easter bank, train, bus, office, TomTom holiday? Didn't they do that last year? Release something notable then shut down for a week's holiday, with "out of office" auto-answer responses on the Support website? I'm tempted to put a few crisp ones on that date too - after all, they're bound to be bringing out the x50 range soon after Easter Monday (wonder if it'll work?).
So everybody with a new TT who's hanging on for the 30 days LMG can pack their bags and steal away into the night, cos' it ain't never gonna happen. _________________ Dennis

If that fails, we take a pair of pliers to their fingernails.
Yes, we're that desperate to know the release date... |

Yep, that's why this is so upsetting. I bought my 930 back in mid-December (good deal) and waited until the end of January to turn it on so I could get the new maps. Now it's looking like that might not happen anyway, and I could have had an extra 6 weeks of use out of it during the holidays! |

But why?
It will be the usual story.... There will be quite a lot of minor road changes, but you can guarantee that the particular ones that bother you won't be fixed. That's life! |
