Hi all,
Due to attend a 3hr speed awarness course held by warwickshire road safety dept.
Was just wondering what should i expect, will it be worthwhile & imformative or just a waste of time?
Decided to attend to save the 3 points on licence but now begining to wonder if this is worth losing a days wages to attend.
thanks in advnce
Daren
btw - speeding fine obtained before subs to PGPSW. |

It'll a typical seed awareness lecture type event with discussion of speed, injury, the effects any injury accident can have on others etc etc.
One tip, make sure you are not speeding on arrival, it's not uncommon for them to check the speed of all those attending as they arrive _________________ Darren Griffin |

Thanks for the Tip, would never of thought they would be so sneeky.
Do you think they will allow me to take an MP3 or PSP to while away the time |

It's also a "well know fact" that Police catch quite a few people every day driving away from Courts moments after they've been banned.... |

Well i attended the course today, can't say i really gained much from it other than saving on the three penalty points, but i guess it will make me more aware / take note of the speed limit for the road that i am travelling on.
oh, and i got a pen,keyring & highway code all for £60.
There were no speed traps on the way in or out but was wary all the same.
Interestingly out of the 25 attendees 19 were women, thought it would have been the other way around.
Out of the 25 people, 18 were caught speeding in Nuneaton Warkwickshire along with myself.
btw, Speed KILLS, but im guessing you already knew that.
& Only a fool breaks the two second rule.

Importantly i forgot to mention, the road safety lecture guy announced that along with all the gatso & mobile vans & 1x police bike, warwickshire have just release 1x new Fiat Panda car to be used as a mobile unit within the warwickshire county.
He didn't say what colour other than it will be a mobile marked vehicle.
Has anyone seen one of these or have any pics? |

Did you not go out driving with an instructor? My daughter opted for the course and got a lot of benefit from it. Have a look at This Thread for an insight as to what happened in our area, near Liverpool. _________________ Ric - TomTom 520 DEAD - Passed to the great traffic jam in the sky. Your daughters course is very unusual and far from what one would normally expect. _________________ Darren Griffin |

From what I understood, it seems usual for this area. As I said in the original post, I would be quite happy to go on a course like this, but I'm not going out to 'earn' an invitation.
Her original offence was a redlight one, but others were attending after ordinary speeding offences. We don't have that many cameras here. _________________ Ric - TomTom 520 DEAD - Passed to the great traffic jam in the sky. Now using Maps & Waze on Samsung Galaxy S4 + CamerAlert of course! |
