In an attempt to try tidy up the minefield of post within the tomtom forum.
Is there any way of creating another subheading titled something like "Navcores - issues and problems"
Then maybe a new post could be started for each Navcore within the subheading, ie:-
v8.300
v8.301
v8.320
etc etc
Then all the relevant post for each Navcore could be moved to their respective topic heading.
Its just a suggestion, as it seems quite congested in here now and i'm sure there will be more Navcore attempts soon. It could hopefully help us navigate to the respective post for our particulat Navcore problems. _________________ Go 720 v8.351 GPS v1.20 Boot 5.5120

It's a nice idea which has been mentioned in the past, but unfortunately the mechanics of the forum software are such that the grafting of posts onto existing threads is impossible. _________________ Tim |

And it's not just that grafting is impossible. There are many original posts where the poster doesn't quite understand if he/she has a Navcore problem or something else. Some people know their devices quite well, others are complete novices and don't even know what Navcore is! For the purpose of looking for their problem, they need to know half the answer before they start.
And another thing is that threads often have different angles. Some of the threads right now are already quite large - there's a problem with 8.300, but is it just on x20 devices or x30s also? Or is it the new 815 map? The title of the thread is created by the OP - if he has a 720 he titles his thread "Problem with 720 and Navcore xxxx". He has no indication that it happens also with 520, 920, 530, 730 and 930. Equally, the person with a 930 may not understand that the 720 and Navcore thread will cover his problem, so he looks elsewhere, or starts his own thread too. I think my hands free problems started with Navcore 5 or 6, but recent TomTom purchasers think it's down to Navcore 8.xxx!
We do try our best to get on top of this problem, mostly in the line of locking a new thread and saying that "This question is being discussed in this other thread, please continue your discussions there". But only recently one Mod came in for some really harsh reactions from the poster who was entirely satisfied that he needed to pose his question four times in different new threads.
I'm afraid the solution to this problem is far easier said than done. _________________ Dennis

OK, point taken, it was just me thinking out loud.
I hope no one took it as a criticism. _________________ Go 720 v8.351 GPS v1.20 Boot 5.5120

Yes there are a lot but they're also all quite important, I've expunged the few that were no longer relevant but the rest are all still needed. _________________ Darren Griffin |

Maybe you should call them "Clingons" instead of "stickies" then? |

I took you about 4 1/2 hours to come up with it, so not exactly 'quick wit' is it.
Must try harder |

Must try harder | He didn't say "quick", he said "stunning". In other words he roused from a stupor in order to come up with a priceless gem.
Of course, the OP may now wish to consider further suggestions for Mods, something on the lines of _________________ Dennis

That's easy, it's normally the one before the one before the one that has just been released. Depends on your definition of 'works' though _________________ Darren Griffin |
