having updated to v8.30 I now have no speech warnings. In preferences it is showing that the speech is turned on. I have tried a reset and this has not improved matters. any help would be gratefully appreciated.

By warnings, do you mean spoken POI alerts?
If so, then you usually have to set them up again from scratch after a software update.
You used to be able to copy a settings file across from a backup, to save doing it all manually; but not this time.
Try re-doing one of them in Manage POIs/Warn when near POI and report back. |

Change Preferences/ Voice Preferences/Enable Voice if that selection isn't available try change voice and select the voice you use from the presented list, Kate or Simon are the two UK text to speech voices - Mike |

Hi there,
I have just tried your suggestions. I was trying to use kate so i went through the selection process again and where it gives the option to test, there is still no sound.

A couple of other suggestions:
1/ Make sure the volume is turned up, tap the ower left corner of the screen and adjust the slider to increase he volume.
2/ Change Preferences/ Speaker Preferences and on the Nav voice options page make sure it is set to "Internal Speaker" - Mike |

You might need to do a "return to factory settings" (from the preferences menu).
I have had this issue before and that fixed it.
For a list of what you lose (and what you don't) when you do one, see
