Just out of interest, is the TomTom Traffic screenshot on The Register's story about the weather anything special or not.

It looks like normal London traffic to me. Confused

True but I've been watching that site (the TT HD Traffic one) at various times of the day over the last few weeks and that is the busiest I've seen it.

It was interesting to see on Boxing Day how it was really quiet and then suddenly the M25 came alive with incidents about 11 am which continued through the day after the sales started....

Oh and please be aware that Page 3 of that story is very definately NSFW.

Edit: Spelling

North Cheshire...

Snow started Sunday late afternoon. About 0.75 inch overnight at home. It hadn't frozen at 10:30pm Sunday when we walked the dogs - but it had overnight so the commute was interesting! Half-hearted snowing during the day but a threat of more this evening. Hope it doesn't start until I'm back home - how a little bit of snow can turn ordinary motorists into people who seem to have forgotten how to drive is beyond me.

So is the one with the pretentious name on the Great North Road. Unfortunately their skills do not extend to making this valuable information available to the kids who had to walk there this morning. Rolling Eyes

Character building is what the PR chaps will say about the poor kids walking in the snow only to find the destination closed……

Thankfully ours uses an SMS alert system and we were put on notice on Sunday and had a text confirming closure at 6.30am. We've now been told it's all off tomorrow as well Confused

our bins are due today... i doubt it will happen either! i still put them out last night just in case i'm proved wrong!

i too was impressed with royal mail managing deliveries each day - makes a nice change (although we do still get the neighbours mail at least once a month)
