Ciao to everybody,
this is my first post as I'm now getting rather concerned with the replies coming out from TomTom Customer Support. I have had a Go 930 Traffic (top model in Italy at the moment) for a few months now and it was upgraded by TomTom Home to the 8.3/8.15 setup. Since the upgrade it has stuttered most of the time. Short directions are all right in Italian but the longer ones very spectacularly disintegrate into garble. I have been waiting patiently for the next upgrade imaging it would solve the problem but if it is a hardware one it certainly becomes another kettle of fish. Certainly more expensive for TomTom to put right and more of a bother to us. I'm waiting for the next upgrade with interest but what do you think I should do in the meantime? Get in touch with TomTom or not. |

Hi shenkerp
Everyone who suffers from the ‘Stutter’ should contact Tomtom. Mind you, many have but no fix has appeared.
The consensus on this forum appears to agree that the cause is a software fault and not a hardware fault. And lets be honest, all the users who do suffer from the fault were all ok before they installed navcore 8.300 and map 8.15. _________________ Tomtom Go 720.

Hey everyone, "Like a Duracell Battery....still going"
With regard to the earlier suggestion of a Petition, i know this site has connections with TT, so would it be a conflict of interest if we say opened a new thread that just had people Print their name and model no.s so that you could then pass it on to your TT contact to highlight it is more than just one?
Would this be acceptable? _________________ Go 720 v8.351 GPS v1.20 Boot 5.5120

I tend to agree with this proposal.
Nothing has happened for months and something needs to happen.
What about it Darren? _________________ TT Go 720 (T)

There was a post on one of the other Forums today, someone has spoken with TT about the next map update. He was told there wil be new maps on the 11th Feb - I believe it was.
We have waited this long, maybe wait and see what (if anything) happens next week, and see if there are updates.
Just a thought. _________________ Triumph Tbird 1700. And now a Bonnie T100. |

I am involved in the Beta testing of the updated software. Under the NDA i cannot comment specifically on the new software, but lets just say that Tomtom are well aware of the 'stutter' and it is being addressed. Im sure Darren will come along and back me up on this matter. _________________ Tomtom GO 1005 LIVE

Why not? Tomtom appear to have incurred the wrath of hundreds, if not thousands, of users! |

Get in touch with TT.
It is a software problem, TT just don't want to admit that in 3 months they have done nothing to address this problem but have quite happily taken our money for the Map Upgrade that requires you to run 8.300. If they admit it is software related then they will have to refund everyone who bought a 8.15 map to use on a x20 or x30 as the required app for the map was inherently not fit for purpose.
Roll on next week when the next map comes out, hopefully the updated Navcore will fix the issue.
