|
|
Hi, I've prepared POI's for speed camera detection, complete with icons and mp3 sounds, and all works well. The original csv files are from PIOplaza, and just give position, although there is a third column with "F50" (for example).
The camera speed is given by adding the number to the csv file, ie, GATSO_20.csv.
Now, the warning operates in either direction, whereas the camera only operates in one direction.
What info is added to the csv file to tell which direction the camera operates?
Cheers,

None, Garmin don't support directional information in third party POIs, only their own database offers this.
And good luck with the POIplaza data, much of it has been ripped off from us but is years old and has more holes than a polo mint factory, I wouldn't rely on it were I you. _________________ Darren Griffin |

Does that mean your database does not give direction?
In the line,
-4.14039 50.39775 S [11144]
Would the 'S' show as a graphic?
What does the [11144] do?
Thanks for any help.
BTW, I'm trying to do my own as the Garmin warnings are so small they are unreadable, especially as to speed. So I'm adding a verbal warning.

We have direction data for those systems that support it which are few and far between. _________________ Darren Griffin |

Yes thanks. It's the same as the help file that comes with POILoaderforWindows_253
cheers.
Does anyone know what bracketed numbers means in the cvs file, inserted after the position columns. And does text in "" show on screen, or what? |

The text in brackets usually shows as a banner alert across the screen.
Numbers in brackets? Can you give an example? |

Isn't it the ID number of the camera in the database? |

That ID doesn't match to the co-ords....
Nor am i sure where the S comes from...
Which format has this database been downloaded in? |

I'm used to seeing Garmin data in this format...
Quote: | ;Longitude Latitude Name
-1.54787 49.77304 GATSO:1@40 |
Data has been edited to change it from the "live" data... |

It appears to be ripped off the SCDB website - they use that format to identify a particular speed camera. Their database has a further column with a description which could be as simple as 'S' or a more descriptive entry like 'after Dublin Airport, northbound'.
I last used the SCDB database when I had a Nuvi 300 and from memory only the '11144' displayed.
I can confirm that notification was not directional. |

Not surprising, POIPlaza have ripped of a number of providers including us.
So far all the data our data that they have is very old and out of date. As soon as we detect current data we will ban the source (who is still identifiable). _________________ Darren Griffin |
