Welcome McGuider Users!

We now have a McGuider specific download for use with v7.7 (2009) software. Users of the v7.5 or earlier need to use ov2.

We are in the process of compiling a new installation guide for v7.7 speedcams.

Hope it helps people.

Also I have uploaded some batch files for the current database types, covering UK, Europe, Canada and USA. They can be downloaded from here. Should I become aware of any changes to the types of cameras in the database then I will update the batch files accordingly.

Not trying to put a spanner in the works here scaremonkey but what is stopping people from distributing your batch file of the database?

Surely it would be impossible for the guys here to identify who has copied it as you have uploaded it to your site?

I converted mine individually from here (and then realised that had I looked, I could have used your batch file and saved me considerable time!) Embarassed

Perhaps the batch file could be made available for the guys here to offer it as a download and thereby meaning that it should show up who has distributed it and the appropiate action can be taken?

Regards

The batch file isn't the database but just a file to run which converts the txt file here into UPI format. You still need to current database (and thus a valid subscription).
There are better solutions available now as well - I will be uploading a different version later today which will do any correctly formatted txt files in the folder. For those who want to create the file themselves, the new file is just a batch file with contents
Code:
set prog="Poi Convertor.exe"
FOR /F %%i IN ('dir *.txt /b /s') DO (
%prog% %%i %%~ni.bmp %%~di%%~pi%%~ni.upi
)

Like the old version, you still need the poi convertor from Sygic to be in the same directory.

Many thanks for clearing that up!

I dont understand how to use it but I think that is me rather than your program / file Embarassed

It is on the help page of Sygics website, but here is a direct link to the download. The files on my site still require the Sygic convertor to be in the same directory. They just allow you to convert more than 1 file at a time.

You can use the Sygic convertor but it is a one at a time process
If you put the sygic program and one of the batch files I created (I would recommend the new all-in-one bulk file) into the folder with all the .txt files you have downloaded from hereand then run the batch file (just double click on it), you should get the converted UPI files (there should be a range of file sizes)

No problem.

Save this file somewhere on your PC. You might want to right click the link and save target as (or similar words depending on browser). This is the batch file that can be run by double clicking it.
Make sure this batch file and the executable from Sygic (it is inside the zip archive) are copied into the same folder as the files you downloaded. Once everything is in the same location double click the batch file (unless you renamed it, it is called convert.bat).

If you want to speak to me direct, send me a PM with your phone number and i'll give you a ring - as long as it isn't too late tonight Razz

You dont need to. If you get ov2upi v2.3 (link to tutprial on getting and using ov2upi) this will convert into old format UPI files. The just run the Sygic POI Convertor and choose the bottom option 'convert old UPI to McGuider 2009'. This will convert all UPI found in the folder you choose.

Edit to add link to tutorial above
