It's not the map; it's firmware 8.3 causing the loss. Threads here are FULL of references to the problem. _________________ David |

And it is not a bug, it is deliberate to comply with EC law.

Garmin are in the process of removing the functionality from their devices too....
(By the way, there's no need to shout. Caps lock not required.....) |

But there wasn't any need to disable it for North America _________________ Garmin 1695 / 255 / 760 w/MSN - Droid w/Google nav + Navigon - Navigon 8100T - Dakota10 - GPSMap76C - GeoMate Jr. |

True. Have you asked them for a statement about that Gatorguy?
Although I guess it isn't that simple to disable the function ONLY in Europe. Sounds easy on paper, but solving simple problems even with the software as it stands now seems beyond them at the moment! |

I'm sure there was an answer sent to the inquiry, as the question was posted to them several weeks ago. I'll pm the sender and see what the response was. _________________ Garmin 1695 / 255 / 760 w/MSN - Droid w/Google nav + Navigon - Navigon 8100T - Dakota10 - GPSMap76C - GeoMate Jr. |

Good News!
TomTom indicated they plan to restore the FM function for North America via a future firmware update. Other countries that allow FM transmission may also have the function restored. No word on when the update might happen.
A big thank you to a good US forum friend who supplied the answer. _________________ Garmin 1695 / 255 / 760 w/MSN - Droid w/Google nav + Navigon - Navigon 8100T - Dakota10 - GPSMap76C - GeoMate Jr. |

I have noticed that TT has not fully disabled the function. Whilst driving I was fiddling with the music and suddenly got the next route change over the car radio!
Have to say it is not really a workable solution and the may take an interest. _________________ Steveee
