|
|
Until recently had no problems with TT6 on my PDA but recently it's started losing all the audio after a peridod running - no direction prompts or Scamera warnings. If I go to the voice section and test/change voice nothing! The only way to get the sound back is to exit TT and restart it. I use the GPSW database, Liz Whittaker voice and only a few POIs with warnings only for the Scameras. Any ideas? BTW I haven't added any new programmes on the PDA recently. |

It's a HP CX4700 and despite "not being supported" has been working fine for 18 months. It has Fugawi and Memory Map on there as well, but not running at the same time as Navigator. The only thing I recall doing recently is moving the Fugawi and Memory Map maps from SD onto a CF card which is in the PDA at the same time as the TT SD card. I can't see that being the cause but I'll try with the CF card out and see if that resolves it.

There was an issue I recall in the dim and distant past with slow downs caused by memory cards where a device had both SD and CF. Do you use both concurrently?
HP's iPAQ 2210 had this issue so it might be similar. What memory card is TT installed upon? _________________ Darren Griffin |

TT is on its own on a 2gb Toshiba SD and the Fugawi/Memory Map maps are on a 2gb CF. I'll try it without the CF or with the other CF card which just has music on it and used to work fine playing TCPMP and TT6 together. |

Tried it today without the SD card snd it's still playing up - anything from 1 hr to about 10 min before the audio stops. I might try a new install. |

Is this using a Bluetooth GPS receiver per chance?
I have experianced similar with my 4700 running TT6, it was quite a few years ago and I suspected a memory leak was the issue, using a CF GPS the application didn't do this, but using BT would cause an issue after 3 or 4 hours - considerably less time though if less memory was available when the TT application was launched, which is why I think it is a memory leak.
Have a look at the available memory on the iPAQ and see if any large files can be moved to the other storage media on the device that are available to - is the iPAQ running 2003SE or WM2005 as I found the ROM update to 2005 was a waste of time and ruined what was a decent device - Mike |

By sheer coincidence I was just wondering if that could be the case. I don't recall adding anything onto the 4700 recently but I do have big(ish) Excel sheet that is getting slow to load. I might just try taking it and any pics I have off and onto the CF and see what happens. |

Ok, its; running SE2003.
I've removed any large files and even having done a soft reset The TT audio is stalling after as little as 10 minutes. I've even removed it and reinstalled but no joy. On exit the memory is showing about 7-8mb free which increases to about 15-19mb. If I close TT6 the Ipaq audio is working fine - ie it bleebs when I make selections and then works for a short while when I restart TT6. I'm at a bit of a loss now - and pretty frustrated! |
