  • New Graphical User Interface icons for 'You are Here' and GPS Status Screen, '2D' indicator for elevation data
  • Direction of Travel indicator on GPS Map screen
  • Press and Hold power button to turn off unit

The update is available here.

I am impressed with the new software. It seems stable and I like features such as the blue circle.

However I'm still puzzled as to what exactly the 2D feature is. Does it mean that it has not got a good enough fix to give reliable height information?

I have been using version 1.3 for a bit now and like it.

I think the 2D feature is just an icon that is displayed when you have a dodgy satellite fix eg under wet trees. In theses circumstances the GPS elevation data is even more unreliable than normal.

If it's like other units I am familiar with then it means it's only using 3 sats to derive a positional fix (Lat/Long). A fourth sat is usually required to start it calculating height.

So the new 'you are here' icon is just a blue circle instead of red?

There are now two rings a blue one showing where you are and a red/brown one showing the location selected by the joystick.

Obviously in GPS mode it is the blue one with a direction line on the outer edge that is what you see but if you nudge the joystick or go into planning mode for any reason the red ring show the cursor position but the blue one continues to show your actual position (in my view helpfully).

Hope that makes sense. I'm sure it will when you have had a chance to play with it.

Is it just me or has anyone else lost the ability to use "Trail Up" since the update?

Oh and has anyone figured out how to lock the screen?

Cheers

Anyone found that the Sunrise & Sunset times are way out?
I have set the correct time and offset but it shows Sunrise 05:56 and Sunset 18:48 and I'm in South Wales.

Yes and no. As with 1.2.

It works with Advanced power setting set to normal and does not with Advanced power settings set to advanced. If I understand your question correctly.

Pressing the "Off" button twice doesn't seem to lock the screen.

Trail Up is present as before.

Can't see "Go To Postcde" greyed or not.

Whereabouts are the sunset/rise times /
