New Zealand Maps

Hi,

I need maps of NZ for a PDA. Anyone know where to obtain/buy?

I have TomTom, Destinator and Oziexplorer.

I see that TomTom One is used in NZ for in-car- satnav but I would prefer to use my PDA.

For Ozi, try downloading GMapMaker (debin.net/gMapMaker/) which will extract road and terrain maps from Google (it's supposed to do satellite maps, too, but I can't get it to). All free but Google may limit download volumes, apparently. These are only raster maps, not turn-by-turn directions.

Can't say for sure they can be used with your setup, but if so users have reported them to be excellent.

I was just going to mention nzopengps.....

They can be used with Ozi. Get hold of CGPSMAPPER (free download) and download the area you are interested in. Open the .mp file in CPGSMAPPER, zoom in to what level you need (e.g 1km) then choose Export, OZI Explorer MAP. If you choose the whole map the resulting .bmp file is huge but use Photoshop or Gimp to change to a 8-bit .png

New Zealand v7.11.1692 works with TTN7

Can be purchased on tomtom site.
