about 25.
If I go to "show POI on map" in preferences they're there, but if I go to "map corrections" & "edit POI" they don't show |

I think the option to edit a POI in that menu is reserved for the built-in POIs supplied with the device, not for 3rd party POIs. _________________ Darren Griffin |

But you CAN still edit/correct them yourself... it's just that tomTom have made it confusing by having two different "Edit POI" functions in two different places.
As you've found, under "Map Corrections" you can only edit the built-in POIs,
but you can change user POIs in the Change Preferences/Manage POI menu.
Unfortunately there isn't a single-step way to MOVE a POI, but you can DELETE the original and ADD it back in the new position. |

I don't have manage POIs on my tomtom under preferences, mine's a TT-one v4 (series 30). They seem to have changed the preferences on this version. I can only edit POIs I subscribe to whatever that means, I think that's what the tlv files are for, so I can share my alterations, but I'm not sure. I think it's tomtom's way of making sure you only use their POIs.
I think I'll have to get a POI editting program |

Yes it's true that TT have crippled the menus on the 30 Series models.
I would suggest POIEdit as a good free editor.
AFAIK though, the tlv files are nothing to do with sharing POIs. If you correct a built-in POI with mapshare it creates (or modifies) a file called PAxxxx.ov2 (where xxxx is a four digit number relating to the POI category). The files DeletedPoi.local and UserPatch.dat also get modified. |
