I'm only getting a single beep as the overspeed warning on my Nuvi 250.
My old i3 would bong at me all day long until I dropped below the relevant camera speed limit.
Have Garmin changed this setting & how can I get it to bong continuously?
Happy New Year.

It will bong continuously but Garmin have made the timing between the bongs slower than the i3, so it may appear you only get one bong. |

Thanks PaulB.
The timings seem far too long.
Is it possible to change them?

I have just checked this & my Nuvi is definitely only giving a single overspeed bong.
If I drop below the speed limit then go above it it will bong again but I don't get the constant bongs when travelling over the limit.
To be honest I'm rather miffed if Garmin have changed this feature as i use it as a speed camera detector more than a sat-nav & found the overspeed bong a real help if you missed the initial warning.
Does anyone else get the same single bong?

On the 765T there's an option for single or continuous overspeed warning
*goes to car to get unit*
Tools
Settings
Proximity Points
Change
Audio
Then you get the option for 'Single Tone' or 'Continuous Tone'
Give that a try. |

This option isn't on my 760T and i suspect it's a xx5 model feature only. |

You could try Ash10s Camera Manager to extend the time it warns you in. You can set the time for the initial Approach Bong and the Over-speed bong. It would make it any different but it might start alerting earlier. |

Thanks guys.
I have already tried setting the audio to continuous but it just bongs constantly then whether over or under the speed limit.
I use cbroms camera database converter to set the time limits & also tried ash10's but it made no difference.
I will ask garmin customer services about this because as I said for me it made the difference when choosing a TT or Garmin.
To be honest if I had known I probably would have bought a TT.
Looks like I'm going back to my trusty i3, anyone want to buy a nearly new Nuvi 250, Doh! |

As far as I'm aware, my Nuvi 250 behaves exactly the same as my i3 - although that is using Camera Manager... |

The new Nuvis do have a longer timing between the bongs on the Over-speed Warning. It's not as Urgent as the i3 and does mean you don't get as many Bongs when approaching a camera in the same distance. One of the first things i noticed with the 760.
Used CM with both the i3 and 760. |

OK it definitely only bongs once.
I added a false camera set for 60 mph on a motorway near me & extended the distance for that speed so that I could get a good long run at it without having to break the speed limit.
I used ash's camera manager software to set the distance & overspeed distances but it still only bongs once for overspeed.
If you drop back below the limit then go above it again it bongs again but still only once.
If Garmin have extended the time interval between bongs it must be now set to hours because I had the first warning about two minutes away but still only get the one!
Anyone having the same problem or got any suggestions?
Please help. |
