While I don't dispute that FortunaSync is in need of further development, there is nothing on Fortuna's web site to suggest that it is still in Beta.
Indeed, while earlier versions of FortunaSync had "Beta" in the file name, the current version does not. _________________ Philip |

I don't think there is any conflict here.
What Philip says is correct about the status of this
utility as shown on the website.
However, if you install and run the version of FortunaSync that
has an executable file date stamp of 5th March 2004 and then
click the About button it announces that it is a Beta release.
(which is just as well, because it does not deserve to be
released as 'production' code!) _________________ DeeJay

Just spotted instructions for the Fortuna USB Lead, has popped up on their WEB site, [http://www.fortuna.com.tw/download/GPSmartusbIn.zip] which will hopefully shed more light on the subject.

GPSmart Marks and Routes can now be extracted from the
intermediate file READFILE.FEC created by Fortuna's
FortunaSync and logged to a PC file using the GPX file
format.
For details of my Windows application, SmartGPX, and
supporting documentation, please refer to -
http://oldstable.org.uk/GPSmart
At the present time SmartGPX is released free of charge
for non-commercial use. It can only EXTRACT data - encoding
data from a GPX file for transfer back to a GPSmart receiver
is a future project. _________________ DeeJay

Thanks guys i recently got a second hand GPSmart and this forum has been invaluble in solving my problems. especialy the Sirf thing that causes no end of problems.
I am however looking for a few tips.
The fortuna sync software never seems to like any coordinates i put in (mixes up s with n and e with west)
the bluetooth never seems to work with my palm after i switch off the palm and the unit, I have to go through the settup again.
Any help would be great
