I'm not surprised Navman weren't able/willing to help
You do realise that before you can install anything you will have to hack/unlock the 570 to get access to the Operating System?
Assuming you do, then you need to purchase TomTom Navigator 6 for PocketPC. _________________ Darren Griffin |

For PocketPC/WinCE devices the latest version is still TomTom v6. _________________ Darren Griffin |

TT6 is what I used.
I got rather fed up with it though. I much prefer SmartST as TT6 is quite slow on the PiN570. TT5 is quicker but not as modern |

What ???
Why on earth do you need to hack the 570 ??
TT6 runs straight from an SD card . I'm running it on mine with the UK & WE [675] map without any need for the so called hack . _________________ Navman Pin 570 , running TT6.10

So how do you install/run TomTom? Presumably you need access to WinCE somehow? _________________ Darren Griffin |

My Navman PIN 570 runs on Microsoft Windows Mobile 2003 ,the device actually lists Microsoft Pocket PC version 4.20 .Now my Navigo runs WinCE and a so called hack [just 5 registry keys changed] was needed to run TT6 or 7 . The supplied software for the 570 , SMART ST ran straight from the SD card , infact my 570 now has the 2 satnav software on the same card without the need for any OS intrusion . Surely Windows Mobile 2003 and WinCE are not the same ? _________________ Navman Pin 570 , running TT6.10

WM and WinCE are not the same, my question was how you accessed the underlying OS which is normally hidden from endusers? _________________ Darren Griffin |

Sorry , I dont understand to need to access any OS on the Pin570 . I install TT as I would install any other program , either by running an exe or cab file from the PC with the 570 [ACERn35 clone PDA] linked using activsync or from a SD card . I'm afraid we may on crossed lines here , I respect your knowledge as I'm a mere beginner on the subject . _________________ Navman Pin 570 , running TT6.10

Pin 570 is not a standard locked PND -- it's a WM 2003 based PDA with GPS antenna; SmartST is just one of the apps. Navman discontinued Pin line sometime in 2005 or 2006. 570 was the last in line. |
