This unit doesn't seem to have full 7 digit postcode search.
It allows you to enter 7 digits but then just takes you to the area covered by the first 4 digits - or was I just unlucky in the postcode I entered not being recognised down to 7 digits?
Also, what do people find are the best settings for the TMC and route profile? Should TMC be left to search automatically or should a station be specified? For route profile, what's the difference between "Optimum" and "Fastest"? |

|
|
Quote: | [quote="MikeS48"][quote="Shinymera"]If I use 'Navigon Fresh' software and go to 'downloading maps and services the only choice I have for purchase is 'Navigon Freshmaps Europe Q3/2008' which is a 1.5gig download. |
I emailed Navigon support and got a confirmation from them that taking out a FreshMaps subscription (@ 99Euros) gave you the upgrade from UK to Europe as well as the 2 years Europe updates. Hope they don't go bust shortly! |

I felt sure the Navigon 2100 max came with a safety camera feature? I cant find anything to do with this on the units menus.
Scrub that, I have just downloaded the speed cam software.
Jim. |
Hi , Ijust purchased the Navigon 2100 max From Halfords and updated to the latest version via Navigon Fresh , and also installed the new Q4 2008 Maps ...but there are no Speed cameras ..although the box and instructions says there should be..

Check the option settings, in case the camera warnings have been disabled. _________________ David

I also went for this last Friday. I absolutely love the unit. I've had TT One, ViaMitchelin, Magellan, Garmin, Sony, Medion satnavs in the past and I have to say the 2100max blows them out of the water.
I agree route calculation and recalculation is very fast.
I didn't need to download any software for speed camera warning. It was disabled by default but could be enabled from the 'settings' menu. Its an item called 'advise of traffic controls'
I've added the text to speech which for £15 really does add to the unit. Being told the street names and exit details is worth the extra.
I also went for the Traffic at £40. The reception from the power cable aerial it the best I've had. The supplied info is still a bit dodgy though.
For £99 + £55 (voice and traffic) this unit was a steal. | i thought it was free with this unit[life time traffic] |

Nope, lifetime TMC only works for Europe, not UK;
depending on the web page you visit, you can upgrade for €50 or £40; obvioulsy the latter is the cheaper option with current FX rates...

Well, I assume so - Navigon site says Quote: | "Automatically, simply and now for a special offer price. With FreshMaps, your NAVIGON is always up to date" |
Not as specific as for the 2150: Quote: | "And the best of all: if you activate freshMaps within 30 days of purchase, entitles you to our special offer price of only € 19,95 instead of € 99,00.* | and confusingly, following the 'buy now' link takes you to a list which just gives the full price. _________________ David

The answer probably depends on what it says on the box. To get the reduction requires a one time key (8character token) printed in one of the user guides. Any box with the reduction will have a sticker on the outside saying "FreshMaps 24 months map updates, 80% discount". You have 30 days from device activation to key in the token and start getting your maps.
Once you have a voucher, it might be worth trying to key it in at:
https://www.navigon.com/site/uk/en/maps_services/voucher/unauthorized
because http://www.navigon.com/fresh ONLY allows euro payments so you end up paying 20% more than you need to because of the fall in the pound as I found out to my cost. |

For all you 2110max owners, Navigon are very shortly bringing out an upgrade package to convert it into an uptodate 4310max - see Press Release at Quote: | http://tiny.cc/s0Uwc |
Navigon do seem to be going to considerable lengths to upgrade at least some of their older products, in marked contrast to the other major players. I almost dare to hold out some hopes for my model . I wonder if there'll still be some people who complain at their profiteering by charging for the upgrade? _________________ David
