Hi All
I have a Tomtom One New Edition ( V2 with memory card).
I have followed the instructions to load a custom cursor, including loading the Art folder into the root of the device.
When I start Tomtom Heaven Xplorer on the computer it assures me that I have loaded the custom cursor, but I still only get the blue arrow. I am running in 3D mode, so what have I done wrong?
Amy suggestions warmly appreciated!
Regards

I'm afraid it may simply be that your device isn't supported. TomTom Heaven is third party software, have you checked that the Art folder is present in the root of your device? _________________ Darren Griffin |

Yes, I can see the Art folder in the root directory and the custom curor pictures show up via Tomtom Home - but still only the blue arrow!
Has anyone with the same model Tomtom as mine got the custom cursors working? |

Is the folder named "Art" or "art" as it should be lower case IIRC - Mike |

It is "art" in lower case.

Hi
The software is version 7.903. I have loaded the Tomtom Heaven fix for version 7, but still only get the blue arrow.

There is a chart HERE of the differences in features available for each model using v7 software.
That says that custom car cursors were not made available for the 'One' models at all.
In fact they were only available for the x20 range at that time, so it probably means only the x20, x30 and x40 models now.
However, there's a long topic on the yourNav forums about TTHeaven Explorer - HERE
That says it should be able to get custom cursors working on other models, so your problem has to be with the TTHeaven "fix" itself. I've never used it myself, but there are quite a few posts in that thread, with a few more ideas to try.
Also, maybe they have a contact on their website? |

Andy, The fact that we're discussing TTHeaven means we realise it's not supported out of the box

I've used it successfully on a GO 700 and an early ONE, worked without issue. _________________ Darren Griffin |

Thanks for the help and advice guys!
As you have got it working on an early TT One, I presume that I must be doing something wrong - but God only knows what that is!!
I'll have a go at working through the suggestions on the Oz site tomorrow.
Clutching at straws now - I suppose it has nothing to do with running Vista as an operating system?
Has anyone got the cursors working successfully on a TT V2, and if so, how did you do it?
Regards

Hi All
Thanks for all the help and suggestions.
I tried following the instructions on the Australian site, but that really screwd up my unit - I needed to re-authenticate my map and the custom curror still didn't work.
However, when I followed the advice given on the Italian website
www.planetgps.it
it all worked and I've got a custom cursor on a TT One v2
One very happy bunny

Wolf, what did you do to resolve the problem as this could help others who have the same issue at some future point? - Mike |

I followed the step by step instructions on the Italian website
www.planetgps.it
There is an English translation!! The crucial part seems to be that you have to save the default cursor first, before adding the custom cursors. No idea why, as there is a default cursor already on the TT. All I know is that if you follow the instructions exactly, then it works!
I hope this helps anyone else with the same problem.

Thanks I've updated the guide based on what they say. i don't have an older unit to hand to test at the moment.
I'll have another go when I get an older unit to try it on and modify the instructions to make it clearer if needed. _________________ Darren Griffin |
