Hi All,
Knowing that the PGPSW camera database is the best on the market, Can You not get someone to Make a standalone unit with LIVE updates via a sim module (like road angel connected).
So Far no one can beat your database but it would make a cracking unit if you can make it.
Is there no company willing to make one?

Of course it is possible. The problem is the investment such a device would require and the cost. The inclusion of a GSM radio would make the device and its administration complex and it would be necessary to negotiate a fixed fee with the network provider, something that a small company such as we are would struggle to achieve I fear.
Earlier in the year we had been looking in great detail at procuring a device that would use our database. We had gotten as far as manufacturing samples. However even a very basic manually updated unit required investment of a very large amount of cash and the climate is such that any such outlay is now a very risky and ill advised proposition. _________________ Darren Griffin |

There are a number of others for the mobile phones, I tend to use the PDA style phones so for me GPS Speed Sentry which you can read about Here - it does considerably more than Speed Camera warning.
Another Application I have used from time to time is the MoDaCo CamerAware application which is great using the non touch screen hardware running MS Mobile see Here - Mike |

As per your post in another thread, can I ask that any discussion of the Inforad partnership takes place in this thread to keep it organised.
We already have a number of disparate thread and it'll help keep any info in one easily located thread. _________________ Darren Griffin |
