|
|
I currently own a n95 using tomtom software, and thus need a bluetooth gps receiver as tomtom doesn't make use of the internal gps (and the hack to get it to is pants). I currently own a holox reciever i bought a few years ago when using a 6630 for gps.
My gripe with the holox unit is that it cant run off the car charger, it has to be unplugged to work, which means i have to make sure it is fully charged before each trip. Does anyone know which models would run from a car charger so i dont have to worry about keeping it charged. i have one of those 2x cigerrette adaptors in the car so can run both my phone and the gps charger at the same time.....
Thanks for any suggestions,
Adam |

Most do in my experience. Holux GPSlim 236 is a good 'un (Note it's Holux. Holox are a cheap brand trading on the back of Holux's reputation). _________________ Darren Griffin |

As best as I can recall, I haven't found any BT GPS from Holux or Globalsat that wouldn't charge whilst on. Drop me an email and I might have a solution _________________ Darren Griffin |

It's a great little device, one of my all time favourites, reviewed a while back here.
With the battery removed it'll run off 12v power alone so you could if you wish hide it someplace and run it off ignition controlled 12v power. It's one of only a few to have a proper hardware ON/OFF switch. _________________ Darren Griffin |
