|
|
Hi
I bought my tomtom last week all has been working no problem. I update it every day via tomtom home but this morning a problem occured. I put my tomtom in the dock and turned it on and it came on as if it wasn't connected to a dock. There was no "do you want to connect to the pc" message. I tried rebooting the pc but this has changed nothing .... any ideas?

Try a pin reset on your unit. _________________ David |

A minor point but there's no "pin reset" on a 540.
Resetting to defaults is done by holding the on/off switch down until the unit responds - which means at least 20 seconds on mine.
(All user entries are lost and need re-entering.)

Not on my 540, they aren't. Have rebooted it 3 or 4 times now without losing any favourites, personal POI etc. |

Lucky you! (They vanished on mine on the only time I've needed to.)

They shouldn't....
A 20 second press on the power switch is the equivalent of a "pin in the hole" reset for recent models that don't have one.
That should just re-boot the program.
To lose settings you would normally need to do a "Reset to Factory Settings" from the Preferences Menu.
But on a TomTom.... expect the unexpected!
(I can't restore ANY of my many backups to my 720 today! ) |
